Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Panthers.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Panthers took Jaylen Reed at the 146th overall pick, roughly 44 spots before his name belonged. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Noel steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a security blanket over the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
A clean, defensible pick in slot 57 with a little surplus value in Donovan Ezeiruaku. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick74 Rnd3 Jaylin Noel
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jaylin Noel at No. 74 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick111 Rnd4 Rylie Mills
Rylie Mills at the 111th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick114 Rnd4 Kobe King
They paid up for Kobe King at pick 114 when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick140 Rnd5 Jonas Sanker
Jonas Sanker at the 140th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jaylen Reed
A big swing on Jaylen Reed at Round 5, Pick 8, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick163 Rnd5 Ollie Gordon II
A reach for Ollie Gordon II in the Round 5 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick230 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad at No. 230 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
