The Panthers clearly saw something nobody else did in Cody Simon, taking him 27 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If one pick saves this weekend, it is McCord.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
