Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall

FutureB
The Panthers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Panthers started one anyway for Kai Kroeger, 52 picks ahead of schedule.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. However the rest shakes out, McCord at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
The Tanor Bortolini pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In pick 14 they get a security blanket over the middle at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Shavon Revel Jr.
They will replay Shavon Revel Jr. at the 45th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick57
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at slot 57 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick74
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
A clean, defensible pick in the 74th overall pick with a little surplus value in Jayden Higgins. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick111
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips in pick No. 111 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick114
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Billy Bowman Jr.. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick140
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
Steal is underselling it; Kyle McCord at the 140th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick146
Rnd5
Ryan Fitzgerald
Ryan Fitzgerald in the Round 5 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick163
Rnd5
Ollie Gordon II
A reach on Ollie Gordon II in Round 5, Pick 25; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick230
Rnd7
Kai Kroeger
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kai Kroeger well ahead of where he belonged. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
