Whoever sat across the table from the Panthers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

If Hawes pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
