Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Panthers.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Panthers left linebacker untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

That McCaffrey pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick40 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Nothing to complain about; Keon Coleman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
They paid sticker price for Patrick Paul in pick No. 65, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick101 Rnd4 Cam Hart
Cam Hart in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick102 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
By-the-book stuff, Zak Zinter at Round 4, Pick 2 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick141 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
Value with a capital V on Ben Sinnott in the 141st pick, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick165 Rnd5 Xavier Thomas
Xavier Thomas slipping to No. 165 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick180 Rnd6 Luke McCaffrey
A tidy bit of business in slot 180, where Luke McCaffrey graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
