Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
D+
ValueB
NeedB
TradesF
FutureA+
The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+. The Packers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Harbor proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Washington.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick32
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
Mansoor Delane at the 32nd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick35
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor at the 47th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick88
Rnd3
A'Mauri Washington
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing A'Mauri Washington in No. 88. It fills a real need, too.
Pick124
Rnd4
Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson slid further than he should have, and slot 124 is lovely value for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick164
Rnd5
Drew Allar
The board had Drew Allar higher than pick 164, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick171
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Taylen Green in pick No. 171 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick203
Rnd6
Quintrevion Wisner
Quintrevion Wisner in the 203rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jordan Castell
A slide stopped in pick 238, with Jordan Castell worth more than the price. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick256
Rnd7
J. Michael Sturdivant
They paid sticker price for J. Michael Sturdivant in slot 256, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
