Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it. The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Khristian Boyd, taking him 61 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will answer for taking safety early while quarterback, wide receiver and other spots went begging. Landing Green that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in the 41st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick42
Rnd2
Jaylen Wright
A conviction pick on Jaylen Wright at the 42nd overall pick that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick58
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
A premium they did not need to pay, Kingsley Suamataia a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick59
Rnd2
Marshawn Kneeland
They went early on Marshawn Kneeland in pick No. 59, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick88
Rnd3
Renardo Green
They let Renardo Green come to them and pounced at slot 88. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
A curious use of the Round 3 slot. Quarterback, wide receiver and other spots needed the pick; a safety in Cole Bishop did not.
Pick126
Rnd4
Khristian Boyd
Value said wait; Khristian Boyd in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169
Rnd5
Sataoa Laumea
A clean, defensible pick in pick 169 with a little surplus value in Sataoa Laumea. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick202
Rnd6
Edefuan Ulofoshio
A straight-up fair deal on Edefuan Ulofoshio at Round 6, Pick 27, value and slot in agreement. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick219
Rnd6
Carlton Johnson
Carlton Johnson in the 219th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jalen Sundell
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jalen Sundell this early at slot 245. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jaylon Carlies
Jaylon Carlies at No. 255 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
