Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesD FutureB-
The jury is out on the Packers. For now, C+.

The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Taulia Tagovailoa, taking him 45 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.

Landing Jackson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.

Spending an early pick on OLB-EDGE with tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

So much rides on Cooper DeJean that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In pick No. 25 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at No. 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick58 Rnd2 Junior Colson
Junior Colson at the 58th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick88 Rnd3 Renardo Green
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Renardo Green in the Round 3 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
A tidy little value on Dominick Puni in Round 3, Pick 28, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
A surprising call. With tight end still to address, they spent the 126th pick on Javon Solomon, an OLB-EDGE they were not short of.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson in pick 169 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick202 Rnd6 Keith Randolph Jr.
A reach on Keith Randolph Jr. in the Round 6 slot; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick219 Rnd6 Jha'Quan Jackson
They will replay Jha'Quan Jackson at pick No. 219 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Taulia Tagovailoa
Taulia Tagovailoa at the 245th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jawhar Jordan
A big swing on Jawhar Jordan at Round 7, Pick 35, well ahead of any board in the building. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
