Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

TeSlaa at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Alexander pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in the 23rd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Higgins at slot 54 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick87 Rnd3 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at No. 87 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick124 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. at the 124th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick159 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
A clean, defensible pick in pick 159 with a little surplus value in Bhayshul Tuten. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick198 Rnd6 Caleb Ransaw
A premium they did not need to pay, Caleb Ransaw a notch or two before his time. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick237 Rnd7 Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson at pick No. 237 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick250 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
A slide stopped in the Round 7 slot, with Isaac TeSlaa worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
