Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
Harden should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Myles Harden got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at No. 245. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Spending an early pick on safety with tight end and interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Kneeland has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
A conviction pick on Edgerrin Cooper at the 41st pick that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick50
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 50 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick53
Rnd2
Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland in Round 2, Pick 21 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Renardo Green
Value said wait; Renardo Green in slot 58 says they were not listening. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
A surprising call. With tight end and interior defensive lineman still to address, they spent the 88th overall pick on Cole Bishop, a safety they were not short of.
Pick91
Rnd3
Trey Benson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trey Benson in No. 91. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick126
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
No drama and no debate, Johnny Wilson went about where he belonged in pick 126. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick169
Rnd5
Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick202
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
A straight-up fair deal on Joe Milton III at slot 202, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick219
Rnd6
Edefuan Ulofoshio
They jumped the gun on Edefuan Ulofoshio, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick245
Rnd7
Myles Harden
The board fumbled Myles Harden all the way to the 245th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jalen Sundell
The board had Jalen Sundell higher than the Round 7 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
