There is conviction, and then there is this. The Packers took Antwaun Powell-Ryland a full 34 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Thornton Jr. at that price is a win they earned. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
