The tape said wait; the Packers did not. Demon Clowney went at No. 254, a good 71 picks before the board was ready.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Orange pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
