Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Packers. The Packers torched the value chart for Dallas Gant, taking him 53 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In the 25th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jonathon Brooks
No drama and no debate, Jonathon Brooks went about where he belonged in the 41st pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick58
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
A straight-up fair deal on Javon Bullard at pick 58, value and slot in agreement. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at Round 3, Pick 25 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick91
Rnd3
Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick127
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray in slot 127 is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick168
Rnd5
Isaiah Davis
A tidy little value on Isaiah Davis in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick204
Rnd6
Erick All
Erick All at the 204th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick216
Rnd6
Daequan Hardy
Taking Daequan Hardy in pick No. 216 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick243
Rnd7
Kenny Logan Jr.
Kenny Logan Jr. at No. 243 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick251
Rnd7
Dallas Gant
A big swing on Dallas Gant at Round 7, Pick 31, well ahead of any board in the building. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
