The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Ryan Fitzgerald, the No. 117 name on the board, sitting there at the 250th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep.

The cost of the Stackhouse reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The DK Metcalf deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
