Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Simpson: B-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Jaylin Simpson slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at No. 203. Highway robbery. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Troy Fautanu
In slot 25 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
They did well to land Adonai Mitchell in the 41st overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick57 Rnd2 Brandon Dorlus
They took Brandon Dorlus at par in pick 57, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick88 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
Somehow Payton Wilson was still sitting there in pick No. 88, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91 Rnd3 Bucky Irving
By-the-book stuff, Bucky Irving at Round 3, Pick 28 squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick125 Rnd4 Max Melton
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Melton in No. 125. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick135 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at the 135th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jaylin Simpson
They barely believed it either: Jaylin Simpson still on the board at the Round 6 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick217 Rnd6 Myles Jones
A tidy little value on Myles Jones in No. 217, a step better than break-even. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick219 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 219th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246 Rnd7 Mark Perry
A straight-up fair deal on Mark Perry at pick 246, value and slot in agreement. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
