FutureB+
Good, not great, for the Packers: B. The Isaac Guerendo selection is the head-turner. The Packers reached 54 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
Milton III at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick41
Rnd2
Quinyon Mitchell
They let Quinyon Mitchell come to them and pounced at the 41st pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
By-the-book stuff, Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick 49 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick58
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at the 58th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick70
Rnd3
Trey Benson
They paid sticker price for Trey Benson in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
They read the board right and Cooper Beebe was the payoff at No. 88. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick91
Rnd3
Jaden Hicks
They paid a round early for Jaden Hicks in slot 91, more than the board wanted. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick116
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
No edge and no loss on Darius Robinson in the 116th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick127
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick168
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Braelon Allen at pick 168 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick204
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
They will replay Joe Milton III at slot 204 for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick221
Rnd7
Isaac Guerendo
Value said wait; Isaac Guerendo in Round 7, Pick 1 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick243
Rnd7
Dwight McGlothern
This one needs a full-page explanation: Dwight McGlothern in No. 243, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick251
Rnd7
Joshua Cephus
A straight-up fair deal on Joshua Cephus at pick No. 251, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick252
Rnd7
Trey Taylor
They took Trey Taylor at par in the 252nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
