The Packers did not so much draft Darius Robinson as overpay for him, 33 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Bertrand at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
