Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Smith-Wade: B.

Somebody in the 203rd overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Chau Smith-Wade, the No. 162 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Mettauer has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will answer for taking TE-EDGE early while edge rusher, quarterback and other spots went begging.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In pick No. 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41 Rnd2 Taliese Fuaga
Taliese Fuaga in pick 41 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick57 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
They paid sticker price for Edgerrin Cooper in No. 57, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in Round 3, Pick 25 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick93 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
They took Zak Zinter at par in the 93rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick125 Rnd4 Cade Stover
A curious use of the 125th overall pick. Edge rusher, quarterback and other spots needed the pick; a TE-EDGE in Cade Stover did not.

MarShawn Lloyd in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

Value said wait; McKade Mettauer in pick 251 says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
