Good, not great, for the Packers: B-. The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Kamren Kinchens, taking him 23 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The back end got a real overhaul.
A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean at No. 21 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick41
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
They reached into another round for Kamren Kinchens, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick58
Rnd2
Patrick Paul
A reach on Patrick Paul in the 58th overall pick; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving in slot 88 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
