Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 47 spots for Brandon Coleman, and value like that does not grow back. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
However the rest shakes out, Alt at that price is a win they earned. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Joe Alt
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Cooper DeJean
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cooper DeJean at Round 2, Pick 9. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany at pick 58 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick90
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at the 90th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick91
Rnd3
Elijah Jones
They left a pile of value on the table to take Elijah Jones this early at No. 91. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick126
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
No edge and no loss on Johnny Wilson in pick No. 126; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick138
Rnd5
Brandon Coleman
Brandon Coleman in the 138th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick169
Rnd5
Tip Reiman
A premium they did not need to pay, Tip Reiman a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick202
Rnd6
Trevin Wallace
They reached into another round for Trevin Wallace, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick219
Rnd6
Dominique Hampton
They went early on Dominique Hampton in Round 6, Pick 44, and the value did not follow. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick245
Rnd7
Bub Means
By-the-book stuff, Bub Means at No. 245 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255
Rnd7
Ryan Watts
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ryan Watts. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
