Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
The Packers bled value on every deal, hence the D-. The Packers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If Nugent pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
They banked enough surplus on Oladapo to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In pick No. 8 they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick25
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
No edge and no loss on Cooper DeJean in the Round 1 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick58
Rnd2
Payton Wilson
They took Payton Wilson at par in the 58th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88
Rnd3
Renardo Green
Renardo Green slid further than he should have, and No. 88 is lovely value for the safety. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick91
Rnd3
Braelon Allen
A reach on Braelon Allen in slot 91; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick126
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They paid sticker price for Christian Jones in Round 4, Pick 26, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick169
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kitan Oladapo in pick 169. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick187
Rnd6
Drake Nugent
They reached into another round for Drake Nugent, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick197
Rnd6
Nathaniel Watson
A reach for Nathaniel Watson in the 197th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick202
Rnd6
Tahj Washington
Tahj Washington is a better player than pick No. 202 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick219
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at the Round 6 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick245
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor in Round 7, Pick 25 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick255
Rnd7
Kimani Vidal
A straight-up fair deal on Kimani Vidal at the 255th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
