Big Pack DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers. The Packers bet big and early on Xavier Truss, 54 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Landing McMillan that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the 23rd pick they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Trey Amos
A reasonable price with a little left over, Trey Amos in No. 54. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick87
Rnd3
Deone Walker
Nothing to complain about; Deone Walker went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick124
Rnd4
Tyler Baron
Tyler Baron at the 124th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick159
Rnd5
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. at Round 5, Pick 21 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick198
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick237
Rnd7
Xavier Truss
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Xavier Truss well ahead of where he belonged. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick250
Rnd7
Ty Hamilton
By-the-book stuff, Ty Hamilton at Round 7, Pick 34 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
