FutureB-
The Packers fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson in pick 239.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Higgins.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the 31st overall pick they get a load in the middle, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick54
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
The board had cheaper options than Azareye'h Thomas at Round 2, Pick 22, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick66
Rnd3
Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard at pick No. 66 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick87
Rnd3
Jermari Harris
A reach for Jermari Harris in slot 87; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick160
Rnd5
Pat Bryant
They robbed the room for Pat Bryant here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick200
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
Somehow Jay Higgins was still sitting there in the Round 6 slot, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick239
Rnd7
Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
A wild overpay on Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson in the 239th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick251
Rnd7
Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams at No. 251 is a conviction pick that outran the value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
