FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it. The rest of the league had time to spare on Drew Kendall; the Packers did not wait, grabbing him 42 spots ahead at Round 7, Pick 34. No fireworks, but a solid B.
Burden III at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the 30th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Taking Luther Burden III in pick No. 54 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick62
Rnd2
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick87
Rnd3
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at No. 87 is a conviction pick that outran the value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick124
Rnd4
Oluwafemi Oladejo
A reach on Oluwafemi Oladejo in the 124th pick; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick159
Rnd5
Logan Brown
Value with a capital V on Logan Brown in pick 159, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick198
Rnd6
Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris in Round 6, Pick 22 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick237
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
The board had cheaper options than Teddye Buchanan at No. 237, and it noticed. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick250
Rnd7
Drew Kendall
Drew Kendall at pick 250 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
