Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Howard: D.

The phones were a trap the Packers kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Buchanan reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. However the rest shakes out, Howard at that price is a win they earned.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In pick No. 26 they get a No. 1 receiver, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A premium they did not need to pay, Trey Amos a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick90 Rnd3 Deone Walker
A reasonable price with a little left over, Deone Walker in pick 90. The roster fit checks out.
Pick124 Rnd4 Will Howard
Circle this one: Will Howard at the 124th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick159 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Logan Brown at slot 159. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jack Nelson
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jack Nelson in the Round 6 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick198 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in No. 198 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick237 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
They left a pile of value on the table to take Teddye Buchanan this early at Round 7, Pick 21. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick250 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick 250 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
