Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it. The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 257 on Cameron Ball a full 65 spots early. No fireworks, but a solid B.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Payton pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick58
Rnd2
Gennings Dunker
Fair-plus on Gennings Dunker, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick84
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. in Round 3, Pick 20 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick92
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
They took Jacob Rodriguez at par in slot 92, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick120
Rnd4
Hezekiah Masses
Hezekiah Masses in pick No. 120 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick158
Rnd5
Matt Gulbin
Matt Gulbin at No. 158 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick199
Rnd6
Ephesians Prysock
Ephesians Prysock slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick236
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
The board had cheaper options than Trey Zuhn III at pick No. 236, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick254
Rnd7
Cole Payton
Cole Payton at slot 254 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick257
Rnd7
Cameron Ball
Cameron Ball in pick 257 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
