Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Caldwell: D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Packers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Caldwell pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The Zuhn III reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick40 Rnd2 Keith Abney II
A straight-up fair deal on Keith Abney II at slot 40, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick52 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
The board had Emmanuel Pregnon higher than the 52nd pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick95 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at No. 95 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick101 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
Fair-plus on Jacob Rodriguez, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick120 Rnd4 Logan Jones
Logan Jones at the 120th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick125 Rnd4 Hezekiah Masses
Hezekiah Masses at Round 4, Pick 25 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick140 Rnd5 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Ar'maj Reed-Adams in slot 140 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick158 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Kage Casey at pick 158 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tanner Koziol
They read the board right and Tanner Koziol was the payoff at Round 5, Pick 31. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick199 Rnd6 Bobby Jamison-Travis
No drama and no debate, Bobby Jamison-Travis went about where he belonged in pick No. 199. The roster fit checks out.
Pick210 Rnd6 Jadon Canady
They took Jadon Canady at par in the 210th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick236 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the 236th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick254 Rnd7 Jack Kelly
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jack Kelly. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick257 Rnd7 Jeff Caldwell
Somehow Jeff Caldwell was still sitting there in No. 257, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A need, and now a little less of one.
