Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

The Packers went off the board in a big way for Pat Coogan, 23 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Payton to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick60 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter at pick 60 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick84 Rnd3 Julian Neal
Julian Neal in Round 3, Pick 20 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez in slot 91 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick120 Rnd4 Hezekiah Masses
Hezekiah Masses at the 120th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick158 Rnd5 Pat Coogan
This one needs a full-page explanation: Pat Coogan in No. 158, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick199 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
They paid up for Trey Zuhn III at the 199th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick220 Rnd7 Cole Payton
Nice patience on Cole Payton, who had no business lasting to the 220th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236 Rnd7 PJ Williams
PJ Williams at the 236th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick254 Rnd7 Ricardo Hallman
A clean, defensible pick in No. 254 with a little surplus value in Ricardo Hallman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick257 Rnd7 Jamari Lyons
The board had cheaper options than Jamari Lyons at pick No. 257, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
