Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Packers let Allar fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Packers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Iheanachor proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Landing Allar that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and running back is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in pick 52 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick84 Rnd3 Julian Neal
Julian Neal slipping to the 84th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick120 Rnd4 Max Iheanachor
They talked themselves into Max Iheanachor at the 120th overall pick, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick156 Rnd5 Drew Allar
Drew Allar at slot 156 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick158 Rnd5 Nadame Tucker
Nadame Tucker at the Round 5 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick199 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
They paid sticker price for Trey Zuhn III in the 199th overall pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick236 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
They jumped the gun on Jordan Hall, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick254 Rnd7 Fred Davis II
They liked Fred Davis II enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 254. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick257 Rnd7 Noah Thomas
A premium they did not need to pay, Noah Thomas a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
