Draft Grade — Packers
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureB-
The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

Somebody took the Packers to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Hunter left real value on the table behind him.

They banked enough surplus on Reese to cover a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get the heartbeat of the defense, and a steal at that.
Pick52 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
They went early on Lee Hunter in No. 52, and the value did not follow. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick84 Rnd3 Malik Muhammad
Malik Muhammad in slot 84 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick120 Rnd4 Logan Jones
No drama and no debate, Logan Jones went about where he belonged in the 120th pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick158 Rnd5 Jermaine Mathews Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Jermaine Mathews Jr. at the 158th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick199 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
By-the-book stuff, Trey Zuhn III at pick 199 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick202 Rnd6 De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick236 Rnd7 Ethan O'Connor
Good price on Ethan O'Connor in pick No. 236, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick254 Rnd7 Will Kacmarek
A quiet steal in pick 254: Will Kacmarek for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick257 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
A reach on Roman Hemby in the 257th pick; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
