Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
The Packers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-. There is reaching, and then there is J.C. Davis at pick No. 84. The Packers jumped the board by 41 and dared it to prove them wrong.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Landing Fuller that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
In No. 15 they get a disruptive interior force. A real need, handled.
Pick40
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
A quiet steal in the 40th overall pick: Chris Johnson for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick84
Rnd3
J.C. Davis
A wild overpay on J.C. Davis in Round 3, Pick 20, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick95
Rnd3
Sam Hecht
Sam Hecht at the Round 3 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick99
Rnd3
Caden Curry
Caden Curry at slot 99 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick120
Rnd4
Chris McClellan
A reach for Chris McClellan in the 120th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick121
Rnd4
Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton at slot 121 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It fills a real need, too.
Pick125
Rnd4
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at the Round 4 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick158
Rnd5
Nate Boerkircher
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 20, with Nate Boerkircher worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick199
Rnd6
Kaelon Black
They jumped the gun on Kaelon Black, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
They liked Trey Zuhn III enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 236. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick254
Rnd7
Jack Kelly
A conviction pick on Jack Kelly at the 254th pick that the board grades a round light. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick257
Rnd7
Andre Fuller
Andre Fuller at pick No. 257 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
