Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesA FutureB
The Packers kept it disciplined and banked a B.

The Ethan Onianwa pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 63 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Getting Slaughter where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

The trade work was a quiet net positive.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick60 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at No. 60 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick84 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Darrell Jackson Jr. at pick No. 84, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick120 Rnd4 Hezekiah Masses
Hezekiah Masses in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick126 Rnd4 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
They took Ar'maj Reed-Adams at par in the 126th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick158 Rnd5 Ted Hurst
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ted Hurst at Round 5, Pick 20. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick165 Rnd5 Lander Barton
By-the-book stuff, Lander Barton at slot 165 squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick199 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
No edge and no loss on Bryce Foster in No. 199; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236 Rnd7 Ethan O'Connor
Nothing to complain about; Ethan O'Connor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick244 Rnd7 Will Kacmarek
Will Kacmarek at slot 244 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick254 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
A conviction pick on Eric Gentry at pick 254 that the board grades a round light. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick257 Rnd7 Ethan Onianwa
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ethan Onianwa this early at Round 7, Pick 41. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
