Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall

Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Bengals. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Bengals did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most.
Johnson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Luther Burden III
In slot 17 they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick49
Rnd2
Kaleb Johnson
Kaleb Johnson slid further than he should have, and the 49th overall pick is lovely value for the running back. A need, and now a little less of one.
