Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB
Grand theft in pick 221: the Bills steal Robertson and grade out a D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bills shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

Reaching for Capehart left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Robertson. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In No. 24 they get the heartbeat of the defense, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick55 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
They paid sticker price for Nyck Harbor in the 55th overall pick, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick60 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dillon Thieneman in the 60th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Eric Singleton Jr.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 88, where Eric Singleton Jr. graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at Round 3, Pick 27 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
A clean, defensible pick in slot 123 with a little surplus value in Domani Jackson. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick126 Rnd4 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 126th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick134 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart in No. 134 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick139 Rnd4 David Oke
This one needs a full-page explanation: David Oke in the Round 4 slot, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick140 Rnd4 Blake Miller
Blake Miller at pick 140 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick164 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A straight-up fair deal on Davison Igbinosun at Round 5, Pick 24, value and slot in agreement. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick168 Rnd5 Aaron Graves
They took Aaron Graves at par in the 168th pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick221 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at pick No. 221 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick230 Rnd7 Amare Campbell
By-the-book stuff, Amare Campbell at slot 230 squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
