A costly weekend of dealing drags the Commanders to a D-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Commanders spent pick 146 on Vincent Anthony Jr., a name most had 37 spots down the list. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Getting Chambliss where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
