FutureC
A franchise passer in Nix headlines a B weekend for the Seahawks. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Seahawks spent their marquee pick on Bo Nix, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
They will need Rosengarten to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Bo Nix
In pick 17 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick42
Rnd2
Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus in pick No. 42 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jackson Powers-Johnson
The board had cheaper options than Jackson Powers-Johnson at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick77
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
They liked Bucky Irving enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 3, Pick 13. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick115
Rnd4
Tate Ratledge
No edge and no loss on Tate Ratledge in the 115th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick152
Rnd5
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at No. 152 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick193
Rnd6
Brevyn Spann-Ford
Brevyn Spann-Ford in slot 193 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick236
Rnd7
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten in the 236th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
