Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chargers were there to profit. PJ Williams, the No. 27 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 87. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

The Shelby reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The veteran additions, Justin Jefferson chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

On the needs board they went 3 of 3, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
