W DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B-
ValueB

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Steelers: B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Steelers reached some 65 spots for Logan Lee, and value like that does not grow back.
On value alone, Barton makes the weekend a net positive. With quarterback, safety and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on offensive lineman is the choice that costs them. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In slot 20 they get a building block for the line at fair value. More want than need.
Pick51
Rnd2
Graham Barton
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback, safety and other spots to take Graham Barton, an offensive lineman that was not the priority.
Pick84
Rnd3
Ja'Lynn Polk
Ja'Lynn Polk at the 84th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
Pick98
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in the Round 3 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick119
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at Round 4, Pick 19 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick178
Rnd6
Logan Lee
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Logan Lee. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick195
Rnd6
Jordan Whittington
A wild overpay on Jordan Whittington in the 195th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
