If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bengals would have aced it. Carson Steele at slot 237 is 76 spots clear of where he belonged. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The McGlothern steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. It is not that Jenkins is a bad player; it is that the Bengals had louder needs to answer first.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
