Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Chiefs did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Chiefs did exactly that with Trey Zuhn III in the Round 5 slot. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The Styles pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Tight end is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In slot 9 they get a centerpiece for the ground game. A real need, handled.
Pick40 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 8: Sonny Styles for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick74 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
Good price on Keionte Scott in pick 74, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick109 Rnd4 Jack Endries
A clean, defensible pick in No. 109 with a little surplus value in Jack Endries. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick146 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at the Round 5 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick176 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
Value said wait; Trey Zuhn III in pick No. 176 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
