Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Packers: B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Packers spent slot 219 on Dwight McGlothern, a name the board had a full 38 spots lower.

Landing Davis that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. It is not that Hicks is a bad player; it is that the Packers had louder needs to answer first.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock in pick No. 41 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick57 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at the 57th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick88 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mike Sainristil in slot 88. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 91st overall pick on Jaden Hicks with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots unsolved.
Pick125 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
A surprising call. With edge rusher, quarterback and other spots still to address, they spent Round 4, Pick 25 on Cedric Gray, a linebacker they were not short of.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jaylen Wright
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylen Wright well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick203 Rnd6 Isaiah Davis
Isaiah Davis at the 203rd pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick217 Rnd6 Daequan Hardy
A reach for Daequan Hardy in the Round 6 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219 Rnd6 Dwight McGlothern
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dwight McGlothern this early at the 219th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick246 Rnd7 Evan Williams
Evan Williams in pick 246 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
