The Bears spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

Every board in the league had Eboigbe lower, and that gap is the story. The Bishop pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman and cornerback.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Worthy where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
