Josia P DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears

FutureA
Larceny in the 88th overall pick lands the Bears a A-, Wiggins and all. Call it larceny. Nate Wiggins sat on the board until pick 88, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In slot 14 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick25
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In No. 25 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
Somehow Troy Fautanu was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 13, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
They liked Calen Bullock enough to skip the value, taking him in the 75th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick88
Rnd3
Nate Wiggins
Nate Wiggins at the 88th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick122
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
