Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

The war room fell hard for Jaylen Wright, and it showed at the 125th overall pick: 29 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Williams pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots still on the board. That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In the 25th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Kamren Kinchens
They did well to land Kamren Kinchens in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick57 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in slot 88 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
The board had cheaper options than Dominick Puni at the 91st pick, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright at pick No. 125 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick135 Rnd4 James Williams
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 4 slot on James Williams with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots unsolved.
Pick203 Rnd6 Christian Jones
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Christian Jones in the 203rd pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick217 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
A slide stopped in Round 6, Pick 42, with Jawhar Jordan worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick219 Rnd6 Xavier Thomas
Xavier Thomas in No. 219 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246 Rnd7 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse in the 246th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
