The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Rice: B.

The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The Rice pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Allen has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
