FutureB-
Larceny in the 106th overall pick lands the Chiefs a B+, Sarratt and all. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Elijah Sarratt got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at slot 106.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They are betting Kamara proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Bucky Irving deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In pick 20 they get a green-dot type in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick29
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In the Round 1 slot they get a mismatch in the passing game, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34
Rnd2
Peter Woods
Peter Woods in slot 34 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick53
Rnd2
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Value with a capital V on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in No. 53, a genuine coup. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick78
Rnd3
Davison Igbinosun
By-the-book stuff, Davison Igbinosun at Round 3, Pick 14 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick106
Rnd4
Elijah Sarratt
They robbed the room for Elijah Sarratt here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick112
Rnd4
Jalen Farmer
A tidy little value on Jalen Farmer in the 112th overall pick, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick118
Rnd4
Tyreak Sapp
A big swing on Tyreak Sapp at the 118th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick125
Rnd4
Mikail Kamara
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mikail Kamara well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick158
Rnd5
Kage Casey
They paid sticker price for Kage Casey in Round 5, Pick 18, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
