Draft Grade — Bears

Nobody dealt better than the Bears this weekend: B. The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Bishop at that price is a win they earned.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jared Verse
In pick No. 9 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick34
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens at No. 34 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick 75 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick111
Rnd4
Ainias Smith
By-the-book stuff, Ainias Smith at slot 111 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick143
Rnd5
Cole Bishop
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cole Bishop at Round 5, Pick 7 is the proof. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick147
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
The board had cheaper options than Braelon Allen at the Round 5 slot, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick180
Rnd6
Zion Tupuola-Fetui
A tidy little value on Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the 180th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
