Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall A-
ValueA+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB
The Vikings cashed the board's mistake on Ward: A-.

Somebody in slot 207 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while Cam Ward, the No. 8 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Connor McGovern gives the group a proven body among the projects.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Travis Hunter
Circle this one: Travis Hunter at the 37th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick97 Rnd3 Walter Nolen
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Walter Nolen reach pick 97 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick107 Rnd4 Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty at No. 107 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127 Rnd4 Armand Membou
Armand Membou in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick140 Rnd5 Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins at pick No. 140 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jahdae Barron
They will replay Jahdae Barron at slot 161 for years; that is how good the value is. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick207 Rnd6 Cam Ward
The board fumbled Cam Ward all the way to the 207th pick, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick214 Rnd6 T.J. Sanders
Steal is underselling it; T.J. Sanders at Round 6, Pick 36 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick218 Rnd6 Wyatt Milum
Taking Wyatt Milum in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick224 Rnd7 Tre Harris
Tre Harris at the 224th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick238 Rnd7 Alfred Collins
They barely believed it either: Alfred Collins still on the board at slot 238. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
