Draft Grade — Raiders

Grand theft in the 37th pick: the Raiders steal McMillan and grade out a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Raiders were there to profit. Tetairoa McMillan, the No. 8 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 37. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37
Rnd2
Tetairoa McMillan
Tetairoa McMillan at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick68
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
They let TreVeyon Henderson come to them and pounced at slot 68. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick108
Rnd4
Will Howard
Will Howard at No. 108 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick143
Rnd5
Quincy Riley
No edge and no loss on Quincy Riley in the 143rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick180
Rnd6
Damien Martinez
Damien Martinez in pick No. 180 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick213
Rnd6
CJ West
Steal is underselling it; CJ West at the 213th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick215
Rnd6
Vernon Broughton
They barely believed it either: Vernon Broughton still on the board at pick 215. The roster fit checks out.
Pick222
Rnd7
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at pick 222 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
