The phones were a trap the Chiefs kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Dennis-Sutton left real value on the table behind him.

They banked enough surplus on Davis to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
